Summary Act 4 Scene 1

In act four, scene one all of the mistakes and wrong doings are made right. Titania and Bottom are in the forest when Titania calls for her servants to get Bottom anything that he wants and needs. Bottom likes how everyone is paying attention to him. After Bottom has his fun with the fairies he says that he is tired and wants to go to sleep, so Titania says that he can sleep on her, she then sends her fairy servants away. Oberon and Puck are very happy with how their plan has turned out. Oberon tells Puck that he talked to Titania and told her that he would undo the love spell that he put on her if she would give him the child that he has always wanted, and she agrees. So Oberon then undoes the love potion and Titania awakens and is surprised to see that she is sleeping with a donkey. Oberon then calls for music so that he can dance with his queen; he then leaves to dance with her. After Oberon and Titania leave, Puck undoes the spell on Bottom and returns his head to normal.
Inside of the forest in the morning Theseus, Hippolyta, and Egeus are walking and find Hermia, Lysander, Helena, and Demetrius sleeping together. They call for their servants to play something and they all wake up, Theseus, Hippolyta, and Egeus immediately demand for an explanation about what went on and what is going on. After they hear the stories of Hermia, Lysander, Helena, and Demetrius they find out that Lysander loves Hermia and Demetrius loves Helena, everything is the way that is should be. Although Egeus is upset that Demetrius doesn’t love Hermia and Hermia doesn’t love Demetrius he decides that there is nothing that he can do about it and forgets about it. Theseus then tells the two couples to come to the temple for a wedding feast, so they all leave and go with each other to the temple. Bottom then awakens and says that he has just had the most amazing dream. He then decides that he will have Peter Quince write a ballad about the amazing dream that he had the last night, one that he will perform after the play for the Dukes and Duchess’s wedding.

Summary Act 3 Scene 2

In act 3 scene 2 there was turmoil between everyone in the story, it started first with Hermia and Demetrius. Hermia was worried about Lysander and accused Demetrius of doing something to him, hurting him and anyway. This is of course not what happened, Lysander was gone because he was anointed with the nectar of a flower that made him fall madly in love with Helena. Hermia then lets up for a while and then the scene moves into both Lysander and Demetrius flirting with Helena. This doesn't work out well for either of them because Helena thinks that they are both mocking her and starts to get very aggravated. Helena and Hermia both start to get into a fight about the love of Lysander. Hermia feels that Helena has stolen Lysander and the love that he had for her, of course Helena has no idea what is going she still thinks that this is a big joke, that they are all trying to play on her. Lysander and Demetrius then go off into the forest where Robin plays tricks on them and mix up each other’s voices so that they sound like each other. This then tires Lysander out and he falls asleep, this is what Robin wanted so that he could fix the mess that he created with Lysander, Demetrius, Hermia, and Helena. Robin anoints Lysander’s eyes with something else to reverse the affects of the nectar that he put in the first time.

Summary Act 3 Scene 1

In act three scene one all of the actors come together to practice their performance that they are to perform for the Duke and Duchess at their wedding. When Robin makes a noise in the bushes Bottom goes to check out what he heard and where the noise came from. The rest of the actors continue practicing and when Bottom comes back he scares all of them, with his new form. Robin had changed Bottoms head into that of a donkey and because of this his fellow actors are in shock and scared of him. Later Bottom starts to sing to show he will not give up his part and awakens Titania and as soon as she gazes upon him she is captivated with love for him, since Bottom was the first one that she saw. She also tells him that he can never leave her and she will be with him and he shall be with her for their lives because she loves. Although the love that Titania feel for bottom is only the effects of the nectar that Oberon put into her eyes while she slept.

Summary Act:2 Scene:1&2

In scenes one and two of act two we read about the fairies that controlled the lives of the mortals which is a lot like the way the gods in "The Odyssey" controlled the lives of the mortals. The Fairies like the Gods in "The Odyssey" also fight about things and by doing this they affect the lives of the mortals that they have power over.
In scene one of act two the fairy meets Robin who is a mischievous henchman of Oberon that goes around making trouble for everyone. They start to talk and they both say that their king and queen are coming, Oberon and Titania. When Titania Oberon come and sees each other they start to argue about a child that Titania was given, but Oberon wants. Oberon wants to make the child into his sidekick but Titania would not have anything to do with this and would not give the child up because she was given the child and was asked to look over him. Since Oberon cannot get what he wants he devises a plan to get Titania to forget about the baby so that he can take him from her. So he sends Robin around the world to go and look for a flower with magical nectar, which makes you fall in love. Oberon also sees how Helena is being treated so terribly by Demetrius, the man she loves so he tells Robin to go and put the nectar in his eyes to so that he will love and treat Helena better.
In scene two the fairies sing Titania to sleep so that Oberon can put the nectar into her eyes and make her fall in love with a beast. Robin then anoints Lysander the wrong person with the nectar, because of this when Helena awakens Lysander he immediately falls in love with her and for gets all about Hermia. Lysander immediately starts to court Helena because he now cannot hold himself away from her, as he does this Helena thinks that he is mocking he and gets very upset. While all of this is happening Hermia awakens and finds Lysander to be gone and she panics, immediately she starts go search for her lover that is missing.

Acts One and Two

In acts one and two of the book "A Midsummer’s Night's Dream" by William Shakespeare there was a lot of stuff going on. In act one scene one there was really a fight going on between everyone. Egeus who is the father of Hermia was complaining to Theseus that his daughter was being corrupted and turned against him be a man named Lysander. Egues wants his daughter to marry a man named Demetrius who he likes but Hermia doesn’t love Demetrius rather Lysander. So Theseus talks to Hermia and tells her about what she should do, marry Demetrius or be faced with a death by her father or live alone and become a nun. Demetrius, Egeus, and Lysander all start to argue about Hermia and who she should be with. Later Lysander and Hermia are together and see Helena who they start to talk to and they both tell Helena that they are planning to run away. This something that Helena likes to hear because she likes Demetrius and wants to be with him.
In act two there are a group of actors that are going to act in the wedding of the duke and duchess and they are all trying to figure out their parts in the play. Bottom who is an actor is very arrogant and decides that he can do everything him self but that doesn’t bode well with everyone else and therefore he is just given the part of Pyramus. Pyramus is one of the main characters who kills him self nobly for love. Quince another one of the actors is cast as the woman character Thisbe and he isn’t too happy about it. He doesn’t want to do it but later comes around to just accepting the job that he was given. The rest of the actors Flute, Snout, and Snug are all given parts to do in the play that is going to be put on in the wedding of the Duke and Duchess. The actors are then all told to meet in the Duke’s forest a mile out of town where they won’t be bothered by crowds and where their secret plot won’t be reveled.

Cultural Revolution

The Chinese Cultural Revolution took place between the years of 1966 and was officially ended in the year of 1969, although some consider the revolution to continue on till 1976. It was started by Chairman Mao Zedong and the goal of it was to try and rid China of it’s "liberal bourgeoisie”, but many feel that it was a way to try and regain control of the party.
The Period of the Revolution was a time of anarchy; the people of China and the political party were both put into a position of turmoil. The Peoples Republic of China was adopted on the June 27, 1981, and in their documentation it is said that Mao Zedong was misguided and lead the Cultural Revolution, Mao is to blame for everything.
The Cultural Revolution was a dark time in the history of China and was due to the misguided ways of Chairman Mao Zedong. China in my opinion is still recovering from this major blow, and to this day cannot unite as one country.

P.E.Q. Response

My family has really played an important role in the person that I am today. I just recently saw a video in Biology that was discussing weather we are who we are because of our DNA or the way that we are raised. There is an argument that is going on between scientists about this certain subject and there is evidence to support both sides.
Although I am not a scientist I think that my DNA did play a part into making me the person that I am today. Yet the care and nurture that I received when I was a baby till now is also a very important part in the way that I have matured. I am one of the people who believe that both our DNA and nurture are very important parts of who we grow up to be.
There is a certain part of us that we cannot control, things that have already been set for us just by chance. We are taught a lot of things from our parents and others who took care of us in our youth and to this day. Everyone in my family is very close and we see each other every Sunday at my grandmothers’ house where we eat dinner together and catch up on the week.
I am the person that I am today partly because of my DNA but also because of the nurture that my family showed to me. If I was just thrown by the way side and totally forgotten about I am positive that I would not be the same person that I am today.

Squaw Valley

Over spring break I was lucky enough to be able to travel to Lake Tahoe and Snow board with my family. Ever since that I can remember we have gone to Tahoe and vacationed there during spring break, this year was no different. My dad just turned fifty this year and his brother and sister gave him reservations to stay at the village at Squaw Valley. It was so convenient just being able to wake up and walk to the lifts in the morning. The trip was a lot of fun and being able to spend some time with my family was also really nice, since in Hawaii we don’t have a lot of time with everything that is going on such as work, school, and athletics that we have to attend too.
I also saw some of my friends up in Tahoe and I was lucky enough to try out night snow boarding for the first time and I have to say I loved it! It think that it was just as good if not better than day snow boarding because the snow is just as good and there is basically no one on the mountain, so its like you have your own personal run. Although there aren’t as many runs open as in the day it is still a lot of fun.
We also got to go and see my cousins and aunty and uncles who live in San Francisco, the ones who gave my dad the condo to stay in. We don’t get to see them as much as we would like to because they live in San Francisco any chance that we can spend some time with them we take advantage of.
Spring break was a lot of fun and it went by really fast. I would go back in a heart beat if I could but like anything else I will have to work hard in school if I want to go again.

P.E.Q. Response

While still trying to answer the question who am I? I decided to look at the things that I liked to do. Ever since I can remember I always enjoyed playing sports. I started playing soccer around the age of eight and I still enjoy the sport to this day. I also used to play basketball, golf, and tennis. I have since had to make some decisions because there was no possible way to keep up all of these sports and my school work. Currently I just finished the soccer season for Punahou and am now trying out track for the first time.
I think that by playing these sports I am continually learning more and more about myself. Soccer is a team sport and that is something that I really enjoy, being apart of a team is something like no other. This year especially we as a team bonded and worked together so well we were able to win the J.V. title for our Punahou. Being apart of a team teaches me many important lessons that help me to succeed in my life. Teamwork and compromise are only a few values that are really exemplified in soccer and other team sports.
Track is a sport that I am trying for the first time this year. Just on the first day of practice it has taught me that trying something new, something that I have always had a hard time with, can turn out pretty good. Track so far has been a surprise and in a good way, I thought that it would be kind of boring but it has turned out to be a lot of fun and very exciting. Track is an individual sport and that aspect is something that I have had to make and adjustment too. I have learned a lot about how to show dedication and because of that I have been able to work hard and push myself to the limits.
Sports had taught me a lot about how to handle different situations in my life. The lessons that I learned in sports have carried over into my academics and everyday life and have really helped me to mature into the person that I am today.

Ghost Story

My ghost story is about Morgan's corner and the superstition behind the whole area. I had heard this story from my seventh grade teacher Mr.Koshiba, as a class we had a free period and it was Halloween so we decided it would be fun to listen to ghost stories. So Mr. Koshiba had a book that was filled with Hawaiian scary stories and he started to tell us some pretty freaky stories. There were so many different ones that he told us but the one that really stuck to me and gave me goose bumps was the one of Morgan's corner.
This story takes place in the area of the Pali called Morgan's corner. Supposedly a couple was driving home over the Pali and stopped at Morgan's corner and for a while because the rain was coming down hard. After they waited around for a while for the rain to let up, they decided it was getting late and it was time to head home. The man tried to start the car but the engine made a puttering noise and refused to start. He decided to go to the town near by and look for some help, he told the woman to stay in the car and wait for him because he would be back soon. So he left and she did as he told her to and stayed in the car waiting for him. She waited up for a while and she then decided to just go to sleep.
She woke up in the middle of the night to rain falling on the roof of her car and the branches scratching the top of the car, but she paid no attention to it and dozed back to sleep. In the morning a police officer went to her and woke her up. He then took to his car and she saw that there were a lot of policemen in the area. The one officer told her not to look back but she got curious and did, she was horrified! What she thought was rain was actually the blood of the man and the branches scratching was his toenails scrapping the top of the roof. He had been hung and the wind was blowing him back and forth.
This is just one of the many stories that Morgan's corner has, but in my opinion one of the scarier ones that still freaks me out.

Magical Realism

With my family there is never a dull moment, there is always something going on. Between the four of us in the family we are always experiencing one thing or another, weather it be playing sports, going on a trip, or getting a crazy present that is bound to cause something to go wrong. We always find a way to make our lives and stories just all that much better. The story is of when we did get that crazy present one year for my brothers and my Christmas present, a bottle of Gatorade, or so I thought.
This bottle looked to be Gatorade but it really wasn’t, it was a magical potion that when drunk would allow you to make a wish. The first time that I looked at the bottle I thought that it had said Gatorade but really it had said Dreamade. At first I didn’t believe my dad and thought he’s just making up stories like he always does until I hear my mom say “This was your fathers idea”. That is exactly when I knew that it was for real and it hit me I was in shock. I had never known that there was a kind of magical drink that could make your wildest dreams come true. It seamed totally unreal and I really couldn’t believe it until I myself tried it. It tasted like a cold Gatorade even though it hadn’t been in the refrigerator, I waited a moment and then something magical happened.
A piece of paper and a pen appeared out of thin air and landed in my hands. On the paper there were directions of what I was to do in order to get my wish, it said “Take the pen and please legibly write anything that you desire on the piece of paper. After doing so please put the paper down and set back, because it will ignite”. So I thought to myself well this can’t get much weirder. So I took the paper wrote down A.T.V. asking for an All Terrain Vehicle, then put the paper down outside and stepped back. And just like the instructions said, the piece of paper burst into flames and
Suddenly we hear a bang out side in my garage and low and behold a new blue A.T.V. was sitting in my garage with the key in and the motor running ready to be driven. I hopped on and took it for a ride around my house and the neighborhood just amazed that it had all actually happened. I then took it up to Roosevelt and was ridding it in the back hills really just having fun. I decided then to take it down a narrow and steep hill to see just how fast I could go, to get my adrenalin pumping.
I hit the gas and took of! Flying down the hill at about 50 M.P.H.! But then something went wrong and the handle bars started to shake from side to side, I was losing control of the A.T.V. and couldn’t stop! Just then I hit a bump knocking the Dreamade that I had been carrying in my pocket to the ground spilling it all. As soon as I looked back I lost all concentration and that’s when I lost total control over my A.T.V and flipped in the air! I was spinning in the air holding on to my A.T.V. for dear life! Then suddenly I hit ground! I had fallen out of my bed and it had all been an amazing dream.

Personal Essential Question Response

As I had said before in my previous response, I think that by breaking my life down into the roles that I play and the things that I have to do I will be able to better understand who I am. The role that I play as a friend is something that I continually work on and look at. In order to have good friends I myself must be one, by having this state of mind I hope to continue to become a better and better friend to my peers. I myself am a very social able person and I really enjoy the company of others rather than being by myself and solitary.
My close friends have come to know me as someone who really also likes to have a good time. I enjoy like some of my other friends being the life of the party, the person who really just goes a little crazy and makes everything just that much more fun. My friend Bryan who has had to move to Japan had a going away party and it was a lot of fun! Bryan, Cory, and I all really close and kind of stupid made the most of our last night together. We did everything that we could to make my friend Bryan's last night the most memorable one of all.
I am also the kind of friend that will try his hardest to keep in touch no matter how hard it may be. So with my friend Bryan going to Japan this made it a little more difficult for me and him to keep in touch with each other. So we found a way to talk over the internet for little or no money at all. This way we could call each other and not have to worry about the cost of talking. I can't wait until he comes back during spring break and we will finally be able to have some real fun, and reunite our entire close group of friends. I can only imagine how much fun we are going to have with each other since we haven’t all see each other for months.
My friends are very important to me and I hate losing a close friend, and will not lose one with out putting up a fight. This just goes to show that I am someone who really will fight hard for someone or something that I believe in.

Personal Essential Question Response

"Who am I?"
Trying to answer this question has never been an easy thing for me to do. I think that by dissecting all of the things that I do, and the roles that I play is a good way of starting to find out who I am.
The role that I play as an athlete is one of the more enjoyable ones in my life right now. I have always enjoyed being active and engaging in some thing rather than just sitting around. This is not to say that I am not one who enjoys sitting in front of the T.V. every once in a while, but I am also someone who enjoys exerting myself physically once in a while. I just finished play soccer for Punahou and I just couldn't see myself not doing anything, so I am currently running track. Track is something that I have never done before and I thought that I would give it a try this year. Since I am experiencing so many new things, such as high school and all of the things that come with it, I decided that since these things have turned out so well for me why not keep an open mind and give track a try.
So far track has been a lot better than I expected, it is actually a lot of fun and something that I look forward to doing after going through a hard day of school. I am right now trying out sprinting and since that has worked out for me well the head coach, Pavich has asked me to do hurdles. I gave hurdles a try and it is actually kind of fun, so once again trying something new has paid off for me. Although my sprint coach wants me to pick one or the other right now I am ok with just trying out both, and making a decision after I have given both an equal chance.
Trying out new things for a change has taught me to always have an open mind and not close myself off to things that are unfamiliar or new. This is a valuable lesson that I need to always remember, it has also shed a little light on the question "Who am I?”. By trying new things I may even find out about strengths that I would not otherwise have known about.

Family Story

With my family there is never a dull moment, there is always something going on. Between the four of us in the family we are always experiencing one thing or another, weather it playing sports, going on a trip, or getting a crazy present that is bound to cause something to go wrong. We always find a way to make our lives and stories just all that much better. The story that I will be talking about is when we did get that crazy present one year for my brothers and my Christmas present, it was an A.T.V.! Usually I have some idea of what I am going to get for Christmas, but that year I was totally wrong. On Christmas morning when we all got up to open our presents we saw that my mom and dad had given us a booklet and a key. At first I didn't know what to think, was it a book? Then with a closer look I saw that it was a key to some kind of vehicle, with my mom adding in "This was your fathers’ idea." I knew that it was going to be an awesome present. So after eating lunch with my family my dad and uncle took our truck to my uncles’ house and brought back an A.T.V.! My out of town cousins, uncles and aunties, mom and dad, and of course my brother and I all took a test drive on our new A.T.V. and it was awesome!
So after ridding it around our house for a while we my cousins, dad, brother, and I took the A.T.V. into Roosevelt and rode it on these hills in the back of Roosevelt. This thing was awesome it went up to 40 M.P.H., but it didn't have the best turning capabilities.
In every family there is that one person who always just seems to get injured, their just accident prone. In my family this is my Brother Alex, he has had a concussion, surgery, and two broken arms, all before he was 11. So being the daredevil that he naturally is he wants to try and ride down the largest and narrowest hill while still trying to gas it. So we saw him coming down and just as we think he is going to make it we see him hit a patch of rocks, as he tries to turn out we watch as the A.T.V. does a 360 degree flip in the air and lands on the side of the hill. Amazingly as we rush to my brother he doesn't have one scratch on him, the A.T.V. on the other hand is not in running order and we would later have to make some adjustments to get it back in ride able condition.
This story is just one of many that our family has to talk about whenever we see each other. Since we are all still doing crazy things and never learn, I doubt that we will ever run out of things to talk about at our family gatherings.

Myself

T rack is something new, like this blog that I have just set up for English. Track is also something that I am experimenting with, as with my blog I am bound to learn something new that didn’t know before.

R unning is something that is therapeutic; it is one of those things that I do to forget about my problems. With this Blog I hope to do the same, except rather than forget about what is going on, or what might be bothering me, I can now put it down and express a little more about myself to others.

E veryone has an unanswered question that they have, one that they just can’t figure out. Mine is: “Who am I?” it’s a very broad question and it is open to interpretation, with my Blog I hope to find interesting ways of answering my personal question.

V egetarian is the last thing that I would be! My favorite food is Steak! And I know that I couldn’t live without it. I respect the person who can go without eating meat because of their values for animals but I myself am not one of those people with that kind of strong will power.

O ur world is a place of chaos right now. In my life time I have seen the Twin Towers blown up and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. It seems to me that we can’t figure out our problems without violence. I don’t know if we will be able to fix the problems of today by the time I die, or if we will just leave our mistakes for the next generation.

R est and relaxation is something that is slowly fading away. With the demands of school and sports I find less and less time to just sit back and relax. These two things are vital to the success in academics and athletics, and we need to try to take advantage of them when we have the chance.

As someone who never really knows about what’s going on, how am I going to answer the question "Who am I?"? One of the tools that I have now is a personal Blogger that I have set up for myself. This Blogger is a really good way for me to try and express who I am, with the internet, something that I have been around my whole life. My personal Blogger is a very unique opportunity for me to experiment with. Since I’m not the best person with technology this will be a challenge for me to learn all of the little tricks to make my Blog something that really represents me.
